Child health monitoring is carried out in the Healthy Child Monitoring Polyclinic of Social Pediatrics Department; newborn babies are monitored from the first month after newborn controls. We aimed for each child to reach the most appropriate growth and development potential genetically brought. During the follow-ups we also give counseling to mothers for breastfeeding, breastfeeding problems and information about correct and healthy nutrition is given during the complementary feeding period. Childhood health screenings are carried out in outpatients clinics recommended by the Ministry of Health. Counseling services are provided on childhood sleep problems, protection from accidents and school health. Monitoring the growth and development of all children, preventing physical and mental illnesses, ensuring early diagnosis by carefully monitoring the groups at risk for these diseases, providing appropriate treatment and guidance, ensuring that families are responsible for the health of their own children and providing education on child health are among the fields of social pediatrics. . In addition to the Ministry of Health Vaccination Schedule and out-of-calendar vaccination, the immunization status of children with chronic diseases or special conditions is evaluated and appropriate vaccinations are provided. Social Pediatrics is based on five basic principles: early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and care, health promotion and protection. Social Pediatrics is an interdisciplinary program and collaborates with other disciplines working in the field of child protection.
Social Pediatrics; By researching the effects of the social, political, family and environmental environment on child health, diseases and development, and knowing these effects, with the principle of equality, it is necessary to try to improve their health by protecting individual children from diseases, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment. It aims to carry out education, research and service activities in the field of services. Social Pediatrics works in three areas: social health problems, child health problems with social consequences and child health care in the community.
Apart from the Ministry of Health, the Social Pediatrics Division's external studies include the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Family and Social Policies, the Police Service, Courts, Child Protection Centers, the World Health Organization, ISPCAN, UNICEF, ISHRML and different educational institutions. The Head of the Department is also the Directorate of Child Protection Application and Research Center of Eskişehir Osmangazi University and carries out studies in the field of primary protection in the prevention of child neglect and abuse.She is involved in the Breast Milk Baby Friendly Hospital Training Program, which is being carried out to support and spread breastfeeding. Provincial Health Directorate participates in Post-Vaccine Side Effect Monitoring studies. He is involved in Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention at Eskişehir Local Level and Provincial Coordination of Eskişehir Governorship Child Protection Law.
