Pediatric Nephrology Department deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the urinary tract in children. Most of the underlying causes of chronic kidney diseases are preventable, that is why early diagnosis is key.

Our departments operate on the first floor of polyclinics building with a laboratory unit for urinalysis and 2 nephrology polyclinics.

Additionally, we have a peritoneal dialysis unit to service end-stage renal disease patients in Eskisehir and nearby provinces.

Patient and caregivers education is done by the peritoneal dialysis nurse and routine check-ups are done by our physicians.

24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurements and evaluation of children with hypertension (high blood pressure) are done and etiological tests are performed.

Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with urinary tract infections, congenital kidney diseases, nephrotic syndrome, nephritis, hypertension, liquid and electrolyte imbalance, renal tubular acidoses, acute and chronic renal insufficiency, vesicoureteral reflux, renal and urinary tract stones.

Treatment and follow-up of patients with Familial Mediterranean Fever are done after genetic analysis is done. Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with difficult to diagnose and treat rheumatological diseases like Henoch-Schönlein purpura, systemic lupus erithematosus, juvenile idiopathic arthritis and large vessel vasculitides due to infectious or immune causes.

Follow-up of patients with a prenatal diagnosis of hydronephrosis is done.

Patients with urinary incontinence at day and/or night are treated and caregivers are informed.

In addition to treatment and follow-up of patients with renal diseases, preparation for renal biopsies or renal transplants are made.

Patients with hematuria (blood in urine) and proteinuria (protein leakage in urine) are treated and followed-up.

A council together with Pediatric Urology Department is gathered as needed and a multidisciplinary approach for our treatments are adopted.
