Pediatric Nutrition and Metabolism Department is concerned with normal child nutrition and malnutrition (underweight or overweight) and clinical and laboratory assistance for screening, diagnosis and treatment of hereditary metabolic diseases.   Our department was founded in 1998 by revered deceased physician Prof. Dr. Sultan Durmuş Aydoğdu.  Within the scope of neonatal screening program; diagnostic tests for phenylketonuria, biotidinase deficiency and cystic fibrosis are performed in addition to basal metabolic tests.  It is possible to screen a great deal of diseases from urine and very low amount of blood by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry and Liquid Chromatography- mass/mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). Our laboratory service is also given to patients coming from nearby provinces like Afyon, Kütahya and Bilecik.
